The fabulous Harold "Tiger" Stevenson. Captain of England many times and one of the all time great Speedway riders to visit Australia.
Englishman Cliff Parkinson made several tours to Australia in the mid and late 1930s. Loved the country so much he came back to stay. He ran the " B.P. Speedway Service Station" in Bexley a suburb of Sydney.
Englishman, Eddie Rigg toured in the 1950 -51 season. Eddie was involved in Ken Le Breton's fatal crash at the Sydney Sports Ground.
Scot, Gordon McGregor was a popular tourist.
Another Scot, Tommy Miller rode well in Oz. Tommy held the 4 lap Clutch start record at the Sydney Sports Ground Speedway at 67 secs for many years.
Jack Parker, probably the greatest rider never to win the World Championship ! Jack had a career that spanned 25 odd years and rode in 5 World Finals. He captained Great Britain many times.
Jack tried his hand in Frank Brewer's # 48 Midget Speedcar at the Sydney Sports Ground and came off the worse for it !.
Norman Parker, Jack's younger brother, himself great rider. Norman was Reserve in the first World Final at Wembley in 1936.

John Robert Vicars (Ken ) McKinlay 1928- 2003
known as "Hurri-Ken"
Probably one of the most successful overseas riders to come to Australia and do well. Ken rode in many tests in Oz and even won the 1964 Australian Solo Title at the Sydney Showground Speedway. Ken toured Australia over the years winning the Victorian Solo Title in 1959 and 1960, the South Australian Solo Title in 1957, the Queensland Solo Title in 1964 and the NSW Title in 1960. ( That was when overseas riders could ride in State and National titles in Oz.)

Englishman Val Morton toured Australia several times in the 1950s. Val rode for Belle Vue in England and rode as "the Masked Rider" at Cumberland Oval, Parrammatta.
( He was one of many "Masked Riders")
Charles "Pee Wee" Cullum from the U.S.A. rode in Oz with the Putt Mossman troupe in the late 1930s. He used to dress up as the Clown with a bike painted with polka dots. They also ran several unofficial U.S.A. v Australia Solo Test Matches.
Englishman, Dennis Newton rode a season in Australia.
Ken passed away in hospital in England, at 9.30am, Sunday 9th February 2003 at the age of 74.
